He had several magazines of ammunition and three firearms - an AR-15 semiautomatic rifle, 9 mm handgun and.308-caliber rifle, police said.

Those in the Silverado wouldn't even make it out of their truck.

Twenty-seven-year-old William Porterfield, 25-year-old Chelsie Cline, 23-year-old Courtney Snyder and 21-year-old Seth Cline were all killed.

Smith was on life support Sunday and not expected to survive after suffering a possibly self-inflicted gunshot wound to his head, police said.

Pennsylvania police did not dispute local media reports on Monday that said the man who shot and killed four people at a auto wash outside Pittsburgh on Sunday was a jealous former lover of one of the women killed. The mass shooting, which left four victims dead and one injured, stunned residents in the "fairly quiet" unincorporated community about 50 miles southeast of Pittsburgh. They said he shot Porterfield and Cline when they got out of their vehicle and walked to the side of the auto wash.

Broadwater did not dispute, but could not confirm, local media reports about the relationship between Smith and his alleged victims. She said he left beer on her auto, and sent her flowers and presents. "If he found out she was sick, he would bring her flowers".

After the shooting, some wondered whether they had missed any signs leading up to the violence.

A Facebook friend, Tim Smith, replied: "I could do both".

Kolarik said Smith "came off as the most king-hearted person" but that his interests were "guns and guns and guns and shooting and beer and rolling cigarettes".

A staff member asked Timothy Smith to leave, and his son remained at the bar, he said.

The other victims, who arrived in a separate vehicle, were mowed down in a parking lot, police said. She then began spending time with Porterfield, though he was married. She is pregnant with his child, she added.

Porterfield's widow, Jenna Porterfield, 24, told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that she and her husband of two months had been trying to fix problems in their marriage.

"I'm not holding that against Will". His father told the newspaper Porterfield had been thinking about getting divorced. I'm not going to hold that against him. The shooter has not yet been identified, and it remains unclear whether he or she was among the fatalities.

"She is cooperating with the investigation", said Sgt. Jeremy Barni of Pennsylvania State Police. "We believe she was able to hide, duck downward".

The station reports there are indications the heavily-armed Smith may have ambushed the victims.

Vicki Snyder says Smith was always polite.

He was initially placed on life support Sunday, WPXI News reported. District Attorney Richard Bower said he couldn't comment on why the death wasn't announced until Tuesday. Investigators took surveillance video from Tall Cedars.

"I guess at night there's been some people hanging out there", she said.
