From electric cars to batteries and reusable rockets, he is now chanelling a fair amount of energy into creating a series of London Underground-style networks of tunnels to help alleviate traffic in major cities.

Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, SpaceX, and The Boring Company, is living up to his promise that he had made last December. That's right, actual flamethrowers.

Musk was clearly joking about selling hats to finance the Boring Company since they are working on multi-million dollar projects and even though selling 50,000 hats is impressive, it still only amounts to $1 million.

Many thought this was a wind-up but it appears Musk is now making good on his, albeit odd, promise.

Reddit users on several Musk-related subreddits noticed earlier this month that the URL "boringcompany.com/flamethrower" began redirecting to a page with singular password box. Then again, the fine print contains phrases like, "Before shipping, aspiring flamethrower aficionados will be sent a terms and conditions rhyme for review and acceptance", and, "May not be used on Boring Company decorative lacquered hay bales or Boring Company dockside munitions warehouses".

The redditor gained access to the page, which mimics the Boring Company logo, and found a pre-order prompt for a $600 flamethrower instead of a $20 hat.

The flamethrowers are hailed as "The World's Safest" and are now on pre-order for $600.

Elon Musk runs several companies that will happily sell you anything from an all-electric auto to new roof tiles that double as solar panels. The company plans to build 30 layers of tunnels throughout the city and will use them to transport vehicles and pedestrians on super-fast electric "sleds".
