The Dave Matthews Band, known for ardent fans of its live shows, might not need a new album to justify a tour, though the ensemble says it's putting the finishing touches on its ninth studio collection, due out sometime this summer.

In all, DMB have 47 concerts scheduled for this year including one in Minnesota during Super Bowl weekend.

The tour, announced on the band's website, kicks off on May 18 in Woodlands, Texas and concludes at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on September 10. Every online ticket order purchased by May 17 will include a choice of CD or digital download of the new album when it is released. More information can be found here.

Dave Matthews Band has sold more than 20 million tickets since its inception and a collective 38 million CDs and DVDs combined.

Members of Warehouse, the band's official fan association, can request tickets through noon Monday. Citi card members will have access to purchase pre-sale tickets beginning at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 30, and tickets go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 2.
