The Jacksonville Jaguars Super Bowl Bandwagon Is Going To Be Lit

Sunday's win was the Jaguars' first playoff victory since January 5, 2008 when they beat Pittsburgh, 31-29, in the wild-card round.

Let's get the bad news out of the way.

Thankfully, Hackett opened up the playbook from the Arizona Cardinals game - he gave Bortles more freedom with his legs and the Jacksonville offense finally found success.

Two franchises that haven't been to the playoffs in quite a spell clash in Florida as the Jacksonville Jaguars host the Buffalo Bills. And Bortles was just, well, Bortles.

Blake Bortles never had a game like this. However, when you lose a playoff game as Buffalo did Sunday afternoon, and you lose it to a quarterback as inept as Jacksonville's Blake Bortles, sure, you're allowed to be a little aggravated.

The Jaguars were out-gained 263 to 230. And the Jags converted just two of 12 third-down attempts.

The Jaguars are moving on, and this game wasn't pretty. But fortunately for them, LeSean McCoy is active. But it was a quiet 119 yards.

Offensive coordinator Rick Dennison is also on the hot seat for the offense's lack of finish.

Bortles and Marrone both mentioned wind as a factor Sunday. Ramsey then sealed the game with an incredible interception when Nathan Peterman came into the game for an injured Tyrod Taylor.

There were probably plenty of tables smashed, since that's a thing Bills fans do in the parking lot, but just in case there weren't, National Football League on CBS analyst Bill Cowher, a former standout at NC State and five-year National Football League vet, had them covered. They've been able to do it all year long, and they did it again today.

"Usually in situations like that when we're up in the two-minute with the corners, we play 10 yards off and not more", Ramsey said. Taylor then ran for a 2-yard loss and threw two incompletions, forcing the Bills to settle for a field goal. Jacksonville defeated Pittsburgh 30-9 in October, a game in which Roethlisberger threw five interceptions. But using that game as the barometer for this rematch is a risky proposition. This is the same Peterman that threw five interceptions against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 11.

There is no guarantee any of those quarterbacks will be better than Taylor, especially as rookies next season. The Bills got passive, also passing up a 4th-and-1 chance early on near midfield, and it cost them.

I'm all in on the Jaguars and I hope you are too!

As one drought ended, another continued. Their defense has the ability to dictate the tempo of a game, just as it did against Buffalo. The Jaguars had their first playoff win since the 2007 season. The Steelers averaged 25.4 points per game during the regular season. That is about the most poetically justified ending to the Bills' season.

But Sunday's win revealed the ingredients for a Steel City upset. The victor of that game will play either New England or Tennessee in the AFC Championship Game. Being slightly more aggressive, relatively speaking, and likely encouraging Bortles to take off and run more didn't exactly net offensive fireworks.

It isn't the kind of football that piles up style points and makes for riveting television.

The offense's inability to move the ball well enough and score touchdowns hammered a hard nail into the Bills playoff run.
