What she said about it caused an uproar.

ACTOR Rob Lowe has hit out at starlet Bella Thorne's tone-deaf response to the California mudslide disaster, saying her attitude is "why people hate celebrities".

On late Wednesday afternoon, she tweeted "F-k u 101 so santa Barbra [sic]". In her tweet, the actress also said that she missed her boyfriend's first date on his tour because of the incident.

'I'm so sorry that you've been inconvenienced by the 17 people that have lost their lives. "We will try to move out our dead quicker", Lowe posted.

The extensive mudslides in Southern California have already killed, including four children, while another 43 remain missing, according to the Los Angeles Times. Lowe and his family are among those that had to evacuate their Montecito homes.

As previously reported, the St. Elmo's Fire actor, 53, slammed the Disney alum, 20, for complaining about the highway 101 shutting down amid the Santa Barbara mudslides.

"I was sexually abused and physically growing up from the day I can remember till I was 14.when I finally had the courage to lock my door at night and sit by it", Thorne wrote. "Montecito needs your love and support".

Bella has since backtracked on her initial tweet, insisting she had no idea why the 101 freeway was so backed up as she tried to get to her boyfriend's show.

"My baby out there killing it right now on stage", she wrote.

He said in a series of Instagram stories, "Thought yous was cool, man".

However, in defense of the young actress, she didn't know why the traffic slowed down, so her tweet was merely ignorant, and not pretentious or careless as Rob suggested. She then had a change in heart and encouraged her followers to "get home to your family safe".

Thorne's representatives didn't immediately respond to INSIDER's request for comment.
