The new survey comes just days after Donald Trump said that he would beat Winfrey if she chose to run in the 2020 presidential campaign.

The POTUS went on to say that contesting against Oprah would be a lot of fun but that he didn't think the former show host would run for president. She adds that Oprah has stated many times that she won't run for President.

But her Sunday night speech at the Golden Globe awards show unleashed immediate and intense media speculation about a candidacy in 2020, presumably as a Democrat.

In 1999, during an interview with chat show host Larry King, he said he would choose her as his running mate if he stood for president.

"I don't think at this point she is actually considering it".

President Donald Trump said on Tuesday he could beat Oprah Winfrey in a presidential race.

"I think Oprah would be great".

Her partner, Stedman Graham, told the Los Angeles Times: 'It's up to the people. Barack Obama's riveting convention speech that launched his ascendancy to the presidency. "It's not lost on me that at this moment, there are little girls watching as I become the first black woman to receive this award", Winfrey said. I do think she was intrigued by the idea. "You know, I was up talking to her very late late last night".

Considering that Winfrey's speech focused mainly on the #MeToo movement and that Trump's father and president of the United States is notoriously involved in many sexual harassment scandals, we understand why people would shake their heads at the perceived hypocrisy of his favorite offspring.

The friends - speaking anonymously with the news outlet - revealed Winfrey is "actively thinking" about running for president in 2020.

After audience laughter died down, she grew serious and said: "No, that won't be happening". However, he did not think she is going to run.

Fifty-five percent of those polled have a favorable view of Winfrey, and 34 percent have an unfavorable one.

Last fall, Winfrey had said she has no intention of running for political office.

"It was the right person giving the right speech at the right time", King said.

He even teased a presidential bid on Oprah's show in 1988.
