The Raging Bull wasted no time and promptly introduced the Urus in India for a whacking price tag of Rs 3 crores. The SUV which the carmaker calls world's first Super Sports Utility Vehicle (SSUV) comes with mind-bending specifications. We are already aware that Lamborghini will making 1,000 units of the Urus SUV globally and out of that 25 units have been allotted to India.

Based on the MLB Evo platform that also underpins other Volkswagen Group SUVs such as the Bentley Bentayga, Porsche Cayenne and Audi Q7, the Urus utilises plenty of aluminium in its construction and has a claimed kerb weight of under 2.2 tonnes.

It's Lamborghini and you can not expect a run-of-the-mill SUV from them.

It may not look like it in the pictures, but the Urus is a big SUV - it measures in at well over five metres in length, and in terms of other dimensions, is nearly the same size as the Bentayga.

"India is a very strategic market for future growth", said Sharad Agarwal, head, Lamborghini India.

Attaining 100km/hr in just 3.6 seconds the Urus has a top speed of 305 kmph.

The Urus is powered by a 4.0-litre, twin-turbocharged, V8 petrol motor which puts out 650PS of max power and 850Nm of peak torque. While the Lamborghini Urus can seat four six-footers and gobble up their roadtrip luggage easily in the massive 616-litre boot, it can also turn into a track beast, off-road junkie, dune basher or snow/ice drifter with a few jabs at the new ANIMA (Adaptive Network Intelligence Management) drive mode selector.

The Lamborghini SUV is targeted at the growing Chinese market.
