As a reminder the the two handsets are expected to have a similar design and similar size displays to the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. What will change is the position of the rear fingerprint scanner.

Although there isn't anything concrete to go by when it comes to the Galaxy S9's specifications, the phone is expected to run on Samsung's Exynos 9 Series 9810 processor, which according to the company is the "most innovative mobile processor yet". The phone has 4GB RAM, 64GB of internal storage, 256GB expandable memory slot, Android Nougat operating system and a 3,300 mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0. The 6GB RAM+128GB version of Galaxy S8+ launched in India, well after the original phones were introduced.

A lot of speculations were ongoing regarding the possible launch day of Samsung's next-generation flagships.

Like in the past, Samsung will use Snapdragon 845 only with models sold in the US, Canada and China while all other markets will get company's own Exynos chipset. The phone has 16MP primary sensor on the front with an 8MP secondary sensor. At the front, it has a dual camera setup with a 16-megapixel sensor along with an 8-megapixel sensor, both with an aperture of f/1.9.

- The rear camera is further assisted with video digital image stabilisation (VDis) technology, and includes a hyper lapse feature for enhanced time-lapse videos. We will have to wait and see.

The Galaxy S9 is included in a number of most-anticipated smartphones of 2018 lists by a number of publications.

Koh didn't share any additional details about the phone, except that the sales date will be revealed at the launch event in February as well.
