"The Voice, literally, it's nearly full circle for me how I started singing", Clarkson, who kickstarted her career on Idol, exclusively told Us Weekly at the Television Critics Association in Pasadena, California, on Tuesday, January 9.

"So that's a tricky thing when you're out in public, 'cause then people are like, you know, they think that's wrong or something, but I find nothing wrong with a spanking", she said, before adding, "I warn her".

"I'm from the South, ya'll, so we get spankings", Clarkson added, according to This Is Insider.

After a brief hiatus, American Idol will also be back this year with an entirely new panel of judges. "That's why this show really does complement my desires for this industry".

That said, she does wish the new judging panel of Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan luck.

Clarkson is confident that the show's big television comeback will be a success. "The ones that aren't insecure or threatened". "It means something to me" having come in for a certain amount of criticism over the years because "I do not fit the pop-star image". "My parents spanked me, I did fine in life and I feel fine about it".

"The Voice" season 14 will premiere on Monday, Feb. 26, at 8:00 p.m. EST on NBC.

Mum to 3-year-old daughter River Rose, and nearly 2-year-old son Remington, the singer explained that while other parents aren't about physically disciplining their kids, she see a little spanking as totally acceptable.

U.S. singer Kelly Clarkson has admitted she smacks her children and says she doesn't think there is anything wrong with it. Physical punishments, including spanking, are not part of the recommendation from the American Academy of Pediatrics as it apparently instills aggressive behavior in kids.
