We can't wait for Akshay and Parineeti to start rolling for the film, this is the first time Parieenti and Akshay will be seen together on screen.

Parineeti Chopra has been locked as the lead actress of Akshay Kumar-starrer "Kesari". Recently, director and producer Karan Johar found himself at the receiving end when he announced the female lead of his upcoming film Kesari and used the picture of the male lead - Akshay Kumar instead.

She will play the role of the lead actress in the movie. One single mistake and you end up becoming the longest running troll on social media. People on Twitter were quick enough to find the humour in it.

Mumbai: Parineeti Chopra is back in Bollywood and how! Apologies! This is to re announce the wonderfully talented @ParineetiChopra as lead cast of #KESARI.

The Battle of Saragarhi was fought before the Tirah Campaign on September 12, 1897 between Sikh soldiers of the British Indian Army and Pashtun Orakzai tribesmen. Parineeti, who was last seen in Golmaal Again has many promising projects in her kitty and Kesari, which is reportedly based on the Battle of Saragarhi, is another worthy addition to her resume.

Kesari is directed by Punjabi filmmaker Anurag Singh and releases on Holi 2019.
