Often times throwing his body around in an attempt to draw fouls, Thomas has proven to be a warrior, determined to match up with his opponents in spite of his diminutive stature.

Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Isaiah Thomas received a $20,000 fine from the National Basketball Association for his flagrant-2 foul on Minnesota Timberwolves forward Andrew Wiggins in Monday's 127-99 defeat at Target Center, according to the Star Tribune's Jerry Zgoda. But, the box score alone doesn't fully explain just how ugly it was.

Thomas clotheslined Wiggins in the jaw as he drove to the basket.

Thomas, who played the first game of his Cavs career last week, is slated to become a free agent this coming summer.

Gilbert, an eternal optimist who aligns himself with risk-takers and appreciates overcoming odds, must like it when he hears Thomas say things like: "My story is my story and it always ends up that where I get the last laugh". I would try to surround him with high-quality complementary players because the impact by that will be made in needed areas and their money will be able to fill more roster spots too.

"I mean we watched film and you could just see it", Thomas said. "I'm just glad he's all right".

Thomas apologized to Wiggins and said after the game that it was unintentional, but intent doesn't matter when you hit someone above the shoulder. "But I know anything around the head is really. especially if it looks bad, you're going to probably be thrown out".

Thomas blamed his performance on rust, claiming that so much time off made it hard to step back in an dominate right away. I'm still trying to get back in the thick of things, getting my rhythm, get everything back for me individually. Working out is not helping now, I'm past that stage. "So we're in a good position but we just got to start playing better offensively and defensively and we'll be fine". "I'm going to do my part to show these guys it's not acceptable, and we'll go from there".
