Theo Walcott is however on his way out of the Emirates, with the Mail claiming Everton will pay £20m for the England forward.

Walcott, a 28-year-old English global, has been at Arsenal since joining the club from the Saints in 2006.

However, the attacker has been in and out of Arsene Wenger's starting lineup in North London for several seasons now, with injuries and the presence of more consistent stars having made life hard for Walcott in the English capital.

Walcott has made just 15 appearances across all competitions thus far this campaign and a lot of them have been in the Carabao Cup and the Europa League.

Southampton have been linked with bringing him back to St Mary's, while Everton are also rumoured to be interested.

Walcott, 28, has only appeared in five league matches this season, with this lack of game time having attracted the attention of his former club, who have funds after the sale of Virgil van Dijk to Liverpool for £75 million.

The Chilean is expected to leave Arsenal in the summer, although the Gunners could allow Alexis to leave the club during the January transfer window if they are able to recoup most of the £38m they paid to Barcelona in 2014. This week however, according to the Evening Standard, the Saints have finally confirmed their interest in the winger.

Pellegrino told Sky Sports: "I have been talking about him". For us, it's not easy'.
