Today, the latest on Thomas Lemar...

Liverpool are unlikely to pursue a winter move for AS Monaco forward Thomas Lemar, Sky Sports News report.

Confirmation of Philippe Coutinho's move to Barcelona has intensified suggestions Liverpool will look to Lemar to fill the void left by the Brazil global.

Kylian Mbappe, Bernardo Silva and Benjamin Mendy departed last season's Ligue 1 champions, who sit second in the table, nine points behind Mbappe's new side Paris Saint-Germain.

Liverpool have already spent a sizeable chunk of any funds by signing Virgil van Dijk from Southampton in a £75 million deal, and the desire to replace Coutinho adequately could also take big investment.

Both Arsenal and Liverpool made bids for Lemar during the final week of the summer transfer window with the Gunners coming close to clinching a €100m (£90m) deal, only for the move to fall through at the eleventh hour.

However, it looks like Liverpool have now emerged as the front runners as the Mirror claims that Lemar is ready to snub interest from the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea as he's keen on making a move to Anfield. It is stated that Lemar wants to move to Anfield despite interest from Man Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea.

Monaco had previously insisted the £90million-rated France star would not be leaving this month, but when questioned by L'Equipe about the possibility of more departures this January, Jardim could offer no guarantees.

If Monaco refuse to do business in January then the newspaper says Klopp is prepared to bide his time and see-out the rest of the season with his current squad as he's confident of finally landing Lemar in the summer.
