But since Google released the Pixel 2 and the Pixel 2 XL, the owners of the older Pixel phone may have felt a tinge of jealousy at the superb portrait mode that the new Google phones offer.

That said, the Portrait Mode now only works with the rear camera, but, we believe that the developers will get it working for the front camera as well.

First generation Google Pixel smartphones came with cameras that took some awesome photos.

Unlike the case of Google Pixel 2 where the portrait mode is also supported on the selfie camera, this mod is still limited to the main shooter, but there should be some changes to this with future updates. I have considered that Portrait mode is a hardware limiting feature, it requires a special type of image data called PD (Pixel detector?) to enable Portrait mode, but some said Portrait mode can be active with front camera, I began to thinking that this feature should be able to work in software way which we can force to enable it on other phones.

Therefore, since the very beginning, the company has gone on to focus on image quality in its smartphones i.e. Pixel 2 line-up.

The price of the first-generation Pixel XL "quite black" colour variant was slashed by Rs 36,000 on e-commerce platform Amazon on Tuesday. It seems that the results of the app are quite good.

Here is a side-by-side comparison.

The Google Pixel XL has a 5.5-inch Quad HD AMOLED display and a glass and aluminium design. While the Camera NX (Google Camera Mod) works only when camera app identifies a human face.

You can download Camera NX from here. It's as easy as downloading the app from the Google Drive link provided bellow and installing it on your device. However, you need to be careful while side-loading the app as it has not been cleared by the Google Play Store yet.
