After winning their first playoff semifinal game in their first attempt, Georgia will face the victor of the Clemson-Alabama Sugar Bowl in next Monday's national championship game in Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Michel: Michel was the Rose Bowl's offensive MVP after rushing for a career-best 181 yards.

Baker Mayfield threw for 311 yards with a touchdown but had two interceptions and was sacked five times.

The hardware from the one Smart and the Bulldogs won past year - the Liberty Bowl - was on display this season on the second floor of the Butts-Mehre building outside the elevators on the way to the football offices.

The Heisman Trophy victor has been battling "flu-like" symptoms, but appears to be feeling back to normal.

Oklahoma running back Rodney Anderson: While the Georgia run defense has been a strength all year, Anderson gashed the Bulldogs repeatedly.

UCF then grabbed a stranglehold on the game when Chequan Burkett stepped in front of a Stidham pass and raced it 46 yards for a touchdown, handing the Knights a 34-20 advantage with 5:56 to play. He was ruled down upon hopping on the lose pigskin at the Auburn 49, but replays showed Davis possessed the ball while still live with an ocean of green turf the only thing between he and the end zone. But it's not usually a massive overhaul of a game-plan that takes place. But normalcy returned in the second half for the Georgia defense. Outside of a couple of nice Anderson runs, the run game slowly was taken away.

Line: Georgia is a 1.5-favorite over Oklahoma in the 2018 College Football Playoff. "I would suspect both teams are going to have some strong points in the game, some runs, and how you answer that, to me, is going to be a big key in this game".

A trip to Pasadena anytime for the "Granddaddy of Them All"-first played in 1902 - means you've had a very good year and these 12-1 Bulldogs certainly have, but the matchup against 12-1 Oklahoma isn't the ultimate destination".

Georgia enters the game with a 12-1 record and avenged its only loss by beating Auburn in the SEC Championship game.

The Bulldogs last played in a top-tier bowl in the 2007 season in the Sugar Bowl, but had not been able to play on the sport's ultimate stage, one of the reasons why Georgia moved on from Mark Richt and turned to Smart, who had a championship experience as Alabama defensive coordinator. Mayfield has never been one to shy away from the spotlight and will be ready to bring it on January 1.
