The country crooner shared with her fans in November that she had broken her wrist after taking a fall on the front steps of her home, and on Sunday she revealed that she sustained additional injuries from the incident. "I'll spare you the gruesome details, but when I came out of surgery the night of my fall, the doctor told [Underwood's husband] Mike that he had put between 40 and 50 stitches in", she added.

Although she's still very much recovering, Underwood is looking at the new year with optimism, "I am determined to make 2018 fantastic and I want to share things with you along the way", she quipped. "Now here we are 7 weeks later and, even though I've had the best people helping me, I'm still healing and not looking quite the same".

She says that she is grateful the injuries weren't much worse and for the people who have helped her since the November accident.

Carrie Underwood says she's "still healing" after injuring her face in a fall at home. "It's insane how a freak random accident can change your life", Underwood says. She shared the devastating news on her official fan page this week, saying that she needed more than 40 stitches to her face.

"I am grateful that it wasn't much, much worse", Underwood stated, adding that she's now attending physical therapy for her wrist.

"I am determined to make 2018 wonderful and I want to share things with you along the way", she concluded. She also cautioned fans that she might not look the same when she's ready to be seen on camera again. Just last week, for example, Underwood posted the following selfie. But last week, Carrie posted a picture of herself which showed her face nearly completely covered by a hat and scarf as she enjoyed a snowy break with her husband and their son Isaiah. Although she isn't wearing much makeup, Underwood doesn't appear to have any striking differences. She doesn't know her prognosis, but said she's grateful.
