The aircraft participating in the exercises are simulating the destruction of the DPRK's nuclear and missile facilities, as well as mobile rocket launchers.

The South Korean army's adoption of drones on the battlefield follows the footsteps of the USA and Chinese armed forces, which have already adopted swarming drone tactics.

Two B-1B Lancer strategic bombers on Thursday conducted drills on the western coast of the Korean peninsula, a South Korean military officer confirmed to NK News.

"North Korea would interpret a move to remove families as a sign of USA preparation for offensive military action", he said.

A U.S. Air Force F-16 fighter jet takes off as part of a joint aerial drills called "Vigilant Ace" between the U.S. and South Korea at the Osan Air Base in Pyeongtaek on December 6.

"Certainly when the US seriously contemplates military action family members should be removed".

North Korean foreign minister Ri Yong Ho said in September the country reserved the right to shoot down U.S. B-1B bombers-which no longer carry nuclear weapons, despite North Korea's claims to the contrary-even if these weren't entering the North Korean airspace.

North Korea issued another stern warning to the drills continue between South Korean and USA forces. By now, we all know that North Korea's been hard at work dong what they do best: Launching test missiles and fiery rhetoric.

The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday expressed concerns over the continued deployment of US strategic assets.

"If necessary, the president and the United States will have to take care of it, because he has said he's not going to allow this murderous, rogue regime to threaten the United States with the-with the most-destructive weapons on the planet".

Aircraft taking part will be flown from eight US and South Korean military installations. The exercises have been condemned as a provocation by the isolated North.

During the Korean War that began in 1950 and is still technically ongoing, China came to the aid of the communist Northern Korean factions against the U.S. and their Southern allies, repaying the fledgling North's contribution to their own civil war, which the Chinese Communist Party had only won the previous year with Korean communist help.

Russia has communication channels open with North Korea and Moscow is ready to exert its influence on Pyongyang, RIA news agency quoted Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov as saying on Tuesday.
