Starbucks has opened its biggest and most interactive store ever, in China, with help from e-commerce giant Alibaba Group.

Starbucks has opened a new location, but it's quite a bit bigger than your average coffee shop.

Starbucks has been unexpectedly successful in China - a country which is traditionally known for tea drinking - and its new half a football field long (30,000 square feet, to be precise) roastery-cum-store is the proof of it. After Shanghai, the second and third are scheduled to open in Milan and NY (2018) and subsequently in Tokyo and Chicago in 2019. Beans from China such as the Yunnan Reserve blend will be exclusive to the Shanghai store. The coffee bar, which measures nearly 90 ft, is handcrafted by a Chinese artist. Once they hold their phone up to it, however, they can see inside the cask as newly roasted beans drop down inside - thanks to augmented reality. It also features a Teavana tea bar that was 3D printed using recycled materials, the release said.

Next, let's take a look at the performance of Starbucks stock. Starbucks said that the shape was inspired by an espresso machine.

"It's that unfiltered wonder, which overcomes even the most jaded, that really defines 'customer delight, ' " she said. The coils of long copper pipes criss-cross the ceiling, carrying the beans from the copper cask to the main coffee bar. For comparison, there were more than 11,100 Starbucks stores in America in 2012.

Belinda Wong, the CEO of Starbucks China, explains that Starbucks Reserve Roastery isn't just a store but "carries the dreams of 40,000 partners", in other words their China-based employees.

Customers have the option of "tasting journeys" to highlight the roastery's food and beverage offerings.

Visitors wait to enter the Starbucks Reserve Roastery outlet in Shanghai. There's a plan for similar megastore in Milan and NY (2018) and Tokyo and Chicago (2019). According to the release, a new store is opening every 15 hours in the country. Not only it employs more than 10,000 employees here, Starbucks actually offers housing allowances, health care benefits and even critical illness insurance for parents of its staffs.
