Players can earn a variant of each new weapon for free via Special Orders from Major Howard.

Call of Duty: WWII is about to experience its first community-based event ever, and there's new content coming with it as well.

Look for the changes to arrive on December 8th when you log-in to Call of Duty WW2.

Running Friday, December 8, 2017, through Tuesday, January 2, 2018, Winter Siege delivers an array of activities and content for free to all Call of Duty: WWII players for a limited time. Other items will also be available for unlock during the Winter Siege by completing Collection Bounties in the game, or earned randomly through Winter Siege supply drops. In addition, the fan-favorite "Gun Game" mode is making its debut that will see players cycling through random weapons after every successful kill.

Are you excited for the first Call of Duty: WWII community event and new weapons? A brand new Quartermaster, Captain Butcher, will be dropping by the social space, bringing some new items with him when he does, including winter-themed cosmetic items, weapon variants, and even some full-blown weapons in the form of the Trench Knife, Ice Pick, Gewehr 43, Sten, and the GPMG. Today that all changes, as developer Sledgehammer Games have officially announced some brand new details about the game's Winter Siege event. Players can also earn Winter Siege Supply Drops, which can be earned with zero purchases as well. Headquarters is getting a seasonal revamp too, with a visiting quartermaster along with new Supply Drops full of fresh cold-weather gear. Players will receive one of these for free each week.

Sledgehammer Games will be activating a double XP boost between different playlists for the duration of the event.
