It was a good weekend for Manchester United as the side saw out victory over Arsenal in a thrilling encounter at the Emirates on Saturday evening.

Lacazette was ruled out of the Premier League match against the Red Devils by Wenger but the Frenchman started the game and contributed a goal.

"If I am a player, and I think with what we produced, we have a huge potential, and we lose the game, we can not accept that".

"He had tests on Friday morning and we thought he wouldn't play".

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino may have accepted his team are not in the title race anymore, but Wenger has not and I think you could argue that Arsenal have deserved more points this season while the spuds have got just wjhat they deserved.

"But, he tried and he played".

"What did you want me to do, to leave him at home?"

The Gunners have already topped Group H and have done so without turning to several of their first-team players.

"I'm always (honest). I thought really that he wouldn't play, that's what I had been told".

Petit believes Sanchez and Ozil will have one eye on January, with recent improvements from both men helping to put them in the shop window ahead of the next opportunity to secure a switch.

Defender Shkodran Mustafi would not have been involved even if he had not been forced off early on in the defeat to United.

On Tuesday, Wilshere posted a picture on Twitter of him ice skating with his family, but Wenger has warned the 25-year-old England midfielder to be careful.

"It's not ideal", he added. It depends as well on what you do.

The club announced new long-term contracts for youngsters Ben Sheaf, Eddie Nketiah and Matt Macey, but the trio may be made to wait until Arsenal's League Cup quarter-final tie on December 19 for minutes.

"Do you want the truth?"
