- Several pedestrians were hurt in a crash involving several cars in Lower Manhattan.

AT LEAST six pedestrians were struck when a cab driver jumped the kerb in a busy section of lower Manhattan. Three more people were hurt when the vehicle went up on the sidewalk. A person on a bike was hit in the crash. Police said all of their injuries appear to be non-life threatening.

The crash happened less than a mile from the path where a driver plowed into bicyclists and pedestrians in October, killing eight people and injuring 12 others.

Investigators say a auto struck an SUV around 1:20 p.m. near Broadway and Liberty Street. Drivers are advised to avoid the area due to a "serious collision".

Initial reports said the driver of the vehicle was arrested.
