DC's Shazam is continuing to gain momentum on the road to filming, as a major casting has been announced.

"It" actor Jack Dylan Grazer has been approached to star in Warner Bros. If accurate, Grazer would join a cast which includes Zachary Levi as Captain Marvel and Asher Angel as Billy Batson.

The young actor joins the cast which now features Zachary Levi as the titular superhero, Asher Angel as Billy Batson, Grace Fulton, and Mark Strong as Doctor Sivana. In the comics, Freddy is Freddy Freeman who, in the New 52 continuity, is part of the foster family alongside Billy. No further details were available.

The story follows Billy as a teen who is able to transform into an adult superhero when he says "Shazam!". Freddy is ultimately rescued by Captain Marvel, but when the best healthcare available still can't save his life, the superhero resorts to some pretty extreme measures in order to keep his friend alive. However, it's not likely that the movie would introduce this character right away with the debut title. It could even lead to a future team-up for Freddy and Billy if all goes well... Henry Gayden and Darren Lemke have penned down the script for the flick.
