During a visit to coastal Texas to meet with first responders and victims of Hurricane Harvey, First Lady Melania Trump took a detour to a favorite regional fast food chain for lunch. They will then travel to Rockport to meet a family whose home was destroyed in the storm, and tour the home's remains.

Hurricane Harvey made landfall in Texas in late August as a category 4 storm. She & Karen Pence dined at @Whataburger today with my wife the First Lady of Texas.

First lady Melania was impressed with the spirt of the Zamoranos as they confront the challenges of recovering from the hurricane.

Vice President Mike Pence followed just days later with Texas Governor Greg Abbott, visiting a church in Rockport and even putting on some work gloves to help clear debris.

"As we approach Christmas this holiday season, your family is an example of what it means to have hope and recognize your blessings", she said. "You serve as a reminder to all of us that the best gifts are those of family and friends, love and kindness". They all visited the children during two separate classes. They are here for ongoing help for #HurricaneHarvey.
