The draw for the Last 16 will commence in Nyon on Monday afternoon.

It was a depressing evening for both clubs at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday as neither got what they wanted from their final group fixture.

Meanwhile, Celtic lost 1-0 at home to Anderlecht after a Jozo Simunovic own goal.

Elsewhere, Roma recorded a 1-0 win over Qarabag at the Stadio Olimpico.

United beat CSKA Moscow 2-1 and finish top of Group A, while Swiss champion Basel won 2-0 away at Benfica to join it in going through.

Hazard overcame early rough treatment to work at the heart of Chelsea's attacking threat, but Jan Oblak delivered a fine display in goal, and the Belgian is sure they can do better, no matter what calibre opposition they face in the next round. The results meant that the Italian side rose to the top of the group and Antonio Conte's side had to settle for second spot.

The Champions League group stage saw more goals in 2017-18 than in any previous season in the history of the competition, with 306 scored in total.

Former Blues midfielder Lampard believes Chelsea have the chance to build some momentum in the title race with their last-16 spot in the Champions League secured.

In Group D, Barcelona - who had already guaranteed to top their group - defeated Sporting Lisbon 2-0.

Atletico coach Simeone, however, was relatively upbeat as he looked ahead to the Europa League.

There are still some issues to be resolved in Wednesday night's Champions League games.

The Reds are due to face Spartak Moscow at Anfield Road tonight and a win will allow Jorgen Klopp's side to qualify as group winners.

First legs will take place on February 13/14 and 20/21, with the second legs coming on March 6/7 and 13/14. However, they will be restricted from being drawn against clubs from their own Football association, as well as the team who finished second in their group.
