The Redmi 5 Plus is also listed, and the price tag attached to the device is $249.99 (approximately Rs. 16,120) for the 3GB RAM and 32GB storage model. The Xiaomi Redmi 5 will have 5.7-inch display while Redmi 5 Plus will support a larger 5.9-inch display. Both the new smartphones will be available in Pink, Gold, Blue, and Black.

Earlier this week, Donovan Sung, Xiaomi Global spokesperson, revealed the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus ahead of launch.

A seller on AliExpress listings with the name Xiaomi Online Store has leaked the pricing of the phone.

Apart from that, the Xiaomi Redmi 5 will be powered by the 1.8GHz processor, which might well be the Snapdragon 450 SoC.

A previous leak suggested that the Redmi 5 will come in two other configurations, sporting 3GB RAM + 32GB ROM and 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM.

While the next-gen Redmi smartphone is expected to come with a new design language and updated hardware, past reports suggests the cameras will not see a major bump.

Priced at Rs.4,999, the phone come with a metallic matte finish and features a dedicated micro SD card slot for storage expansion, Xiaomi Regional Business Head South and East Sunil Baby told reporters at the launch.

The Xiaomi Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus set to launch in China tomorrow, the pricing of both the phone have reportedly been leaked ahead of launch. It is expected to sport a 12-megapixel sensor on the back and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. As for the Redmi 5 Plus, there will just be one more variant in addition to the aforementioned device, featuring 4GB RAM and 64GB storage.

To recall, Xiaomi Redmi 4 offered a 4,100mAh battery. The phone is expected to run on Android 7.1.2 with MIUI 9 skin on the top. The Redmi 5 Plus may not hit the Indian shores, but the Redmi 5 will succeed the successful Redmi 4 smartphone in the Indian market.
