Haryana's BJP chief media coordinator Suraj Pal Amu also put a bounty on Deepika and director Sanjay Leela Bhansali's head and has since resigned from office. Anxious about the safety of Deepika, Veteran actress Shabana Azmi called for the entire Hindi film fraternity to unite. "Once they sign, we will be taking the matter forward".

Bollywood actresses like Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, Katrina Kaif, Alia Bhatt, Vidya Balan, Anushka Sharma and others were approached to get the petition signed.

Interestingly, Katrina and Deepika have never been great pals but at such a time of crisis, the former has chose to lend her unconditional support to the "Padmavati" actress.

After giving some befitting replies in her recent controversies related to her film Simran and alleged lover, Hrithik Roshan, Kangana Ranaut is back again in the news regarding Deepika Padukone's safety and her film Padmavati. Kangana Ranaut has spoken is support of the actress, but has plainly stated that she won't be singing Shabana Azmi's "Deepika Bachao" petition, asking Narendra Modi about increasing Deepika's protection.

Ranaut further said, "I have my own set of ideas and opinions about the current situation in our country". She concluded, "I am an individual perfectly capable of supporting who I like without anyone's support". Rejoiced Rekha shared, "Ladies and gentleman please put your hands together to the one who is reigning supreme, I have nothing to say before I take her name" and then the actress folded her hands for Deepika. The actress is now shooting for her own period drama called "Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi".

The film also stars Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor and has still not received certification from the Central Board of Film Certification.
