Using her newborn daughter Alexis as her muse, Williams voices a letter detailing how sports can be used as a metaphor to navigate life's many triumphs and challenges. I won't mind if you choose to never pick up a racket. And we hope future athlete Alexis Olympia feels better soon so we can see her make her debut (outside her insane cute Instagram account, that is).

Serena Williams shares a heartfelt message with her daughter in a new Gatorade commercial and it's all about girl power.

Williams and her husband, Reddit cofounder Alexis Ohanian, have not been shy about putting their daughter in the spotlight. The video as of Monday had almost 2.7 million views.

After a New Orleans marching band played, the source says friends and family enjoyed a dinner by Creative Edge made up of different food stations all curated for a special reason: Italian (the couple first met in Rome), Southern-style (Williams' favorite), and Armenian (for Ohanian's heritage).

The 36-year-old gave birth to Alexis Olympia in September after revealing she was pregnant when she won the Australian Open earlier this year.

As the sports drink brand notes, girls drop out of sports at 1.5 times the rate of boys by age 14. Those who manage to stay involved in sports are healthier, happier and have better odds of success later in life.

The spot closes with photos of successful women from their sports-playing days, including actress Allison Williams, Teen Vogue Editor-in-Chief Elaine Welteroth, YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki and Refinery29 co-founder Piera Gelardi.
