On the other side, the Steelers are 4-0-1 ATS in their last 5 games following an ATS loss, 5-1 vs. a team with a winning record, 3-1-1 in their last 5 home games, Week 11 games, and Thursday night games, and 3-9 in their last 12 November games. Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger said nearly the same thing in an interview with Pittsburgh's 93.7 The Fan on Monday.

Then he goes on to describe what Thursday is like when a team has just played a game on Sunday and they're scheduled on TNF. They need to get rid of this game, I think.

The week has barely started and Ben Roethlisberger is already setting the stage for a Thursday night disappointment.

Mike Tomlin alluded to this reality after Pittsburgh beat the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, 20-17, saying players who limped out of that arena likely wouldn't be able to suit up against the Tennessee Titans on Thursday at Heinz Field.

National Football League players love Thursday night games - not really. "It's so tough on guys", said Roethlisberger.

"Both teams are going through it, so I'm not just speaking on ours", Roethlisberger continued. You've got to let your body recover a little bit. You're still dealing with bumps and bruises and things continue to build up throughout the season...

Ironically one weapon the Steelers might have to fight not just a short week, but what a defense can bring, is the no-huddle.

"Everything, and I don't know", said Roethlisberger.

It would behove the National Football League to take a hard look at the Thursday night games.

The Titans (6-3) are tied for first place as they attempt to earn their first playoff berth since 2011.

Seahawks wide receiver Doug Baldwin voiced his dislike for Thursday night games last week after several Seattle players, including star cornerback Richard Sherman, were injured in a 22-16 win over the Cardinals.

This has all the hallmarks of a really competitive affair but I doubt it will be high scoring in what should develop into a chilly slugfest between two physical outfits so investing on under 43.5 total points at even money is a sensible option to take. You'd never hear this kind of rant, on day one of preparation no less, from Tom Brady about having to play on Thursday.
