Although he still doesn't look the part, there is no doubting his natural ability inside a ring, however, his eyes are probably not on Briggs, they are on a certain Anthony Joshua.

Fury saw the video and responded to the remark, tweeting: '10 men like you AJ couldn't make me put my tail between my legs.

The controversial NY native told Sky Sports: "My target is Tyson Fury". That's not what I like to do. In 2018, providing Deontay Wilder is true to his word, you'll see this fight happen.

He addressed Joshua directly: "To be honest with you my old mate, I don't need to get fit for somebody like you at all ... even at 25 stone".

Parker was the preferred option for "AJ" in the spring, although talks have failed to get off the ground and may lead to contact with Fury should he sort of his situation with the British Boxing Board of Control.

"Deontay Wilder is a potential name in the mix". "He shot some words at me on Twitter but he's scared of me".

"I had spent the last three-and-a-half months training for this last guy, so there was no talk of me ever fighting you up until he had a fight. I respect and understand what he's going through".

Joseph Parker is another name in the mix but Joshua doesn't seem overly concerned with the New Zealander who holds the WBO belt.

"I just thought he must want to fight so he must have made an offer, which he hadn't, so we're just taking it upon ourselves to see the landscape and the opportunities of making this fight a reality".

And everything's in his favour right now, with Matchroom boss Barry Hearn predicting he'll become a billionaire before too long. It is nice to know that I can give a lot more. Who told me to get fit?

Despite the simmering bad blood between them and fans' appetite to see them settle their differences, Fury will nearly certainly require one or two tune-up fights before he is given the chance to clash with Joshua.

Fury ducked and dodged his way to the WBA, WBO, IBF, the ring magazine and lineal heavyweight titles against Wladimir Klitschko a little under two years ago to reach the pinnacle of his career.
