Last week, The New York Times published a report in which five women detailed the comedian's sexually inappropriate behaviour, including three who said he had masturbated in front of them. In it, he says, "I have been remorseful of my actions".

Father of two Louis C.K. was dumped by Netflix, his publicist, the television networks FX and HBO, and his upcoming movie, which had showcased a relationship between an aging filmmaker and a teenage girl, was scrapped. I feel deep sorrow and empathy for the women who have come forward.

"At the time, I said to myself that what I did was okay because I never showed a woman my dick without asking first, which is also true", he said. "I am processing and grieving and hope to say more as soon as I am able".

Inviting a woman up to your hotel room, taking your clothes off in front of her and starting to masturbate even when she tells you not to likely gives you a lot of information about how a situation like that might unfold and how all the participants in it might react.

The network FX, which airs his shows Louie, Better Things and Baskets, also ended its association withe comedian.

The comedian recalled her encounter with C.K., which occurred in 2005 when she was working on a TV pilot. "Because I have learned that doing nothing, saying nothing, is not helpful".

"The power I had over these women is that they admired me", he added. "This sort of subtle aggrandisement seems to me to be all over Louie, this way the show burnishes Louis C.K., often at the expense of Louie, as a guy who gets the complexities of male and female experience". "And I wielded that power irresponsibly". He is now under fire after five women claimed in the Times that he either masturbated in front of them, asked them to watch him masturbate, or masturbated while on the phone with them, a pattern of inappropriate behavior that allegedly went on for years. "All I know is that, I know about him as being my partner on a show that is the opposite of any of this kind of awful, negative things". "I mean, I wanted to do my job. Which is nothing compared to the task I left them with". The normal laws of self-preservation probably led me to think that no one who had behaved like this in real life would ever depict himself this way.
