Youth Initiative for Advocacy Growth and Advancement, an election observer group, on Monday asked security agencies and other stakeholders in Anambra State to address the "vote-and-die" threat by the Indigenous People of Biafra before Saturday's governorship poll.

"If you vote you will die".

"Armed Police detachments on patrol vehicles are going to patrol the streets and other locations throughout the state to prevent crime and intervene to quell any violence that may occur during the election". All adequate measures to checkmate the excesses of IPOB and other unlawful groups with regard to the Anambra election are already fully in place.

In addition, other security and safety agencies, which are members of Inter-Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security (ICCES) in the state are also deployed to complement the Police.

This came just as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) expressed dismay over the alleged statement that sensitive materials meant for the governorship election have been intercepted by the police in an undisclosed hotel in Awka.

Human rights groups under the aegis of the Southeast Based Coalition of Human Rights Organizations (SCBHROs) have urged registered voters in Anambra State to exercise their rights and vote in the November 18 governorship election in the state.

She said, "It's to the advantage of the people that state and the Federal governments were approving the deployment of huge security personnel for coverage of the election, Mbamalu said. The security personnel deployed will only operate within the area they are posted for the election", the Police said. Powerful basted, making reference to the now concluded Operation Python dance of the Nigerian Army.

"It is also important to note that if IPOB engages in violence and disrupts the election and their activities lead to a declaration of a state of emergency on Anambra state, it is IPOB that will lose its social capital".

"Sequel to forthcoming governorship election, I hereby inform the general public that the election petition tribunal for governorship in Anambra has been constituted. To tell them that the genuine power belong to the people and we are withholding it for good and sake of our freedom", Ogbonnaya reiterated. So any vehicle seen on the road will be considered a threat to their plans to rig the election and the occupants of such vehicles will be shot dead.

It also warned against those who are out to undermine the emergence of the popular choice of the Anambra People and to invalidate the genuine outcome of the election.

"Security identification tag will be provided for all the security and safety agencies, INEC officials, election observers/monitors and others that have statutory duties to carry out in the election. Voters are therefore implored to turn out en masse, without fear of intimidation, and freely cast their votes".

They said, "We want the federal government to produce Nnamdi Kanu with immediate effect or there will be no peace".

He said that the commission was ready for the election and appealed to candidates to play by the rules.
