Roberto Martinez has revealed that he left Marouane Fellaini out of his latest Belgium squad as the Manchester United midfielder is not yet fit enough to play a full part.
Following the dismissal of the Scot, Fellaini remained in Manchester under new boss Louis van Gaal and now Jose Mourinho but is still the focus of transfer rumours at the club.
The Belgian had been erroneously linked with a move to Galatasaray over the summer and negotiations over renewing his contract, which expires in June, are still in progress.
Metin Albayrak is the man who has made this stunning revelation that they are trying to sign Fellaini, who is at present in their list of potential targets.
They had reportedly been watching around 20 live matches in order to scout for the best options that they would sign in the upcoming days.
"I have to be honest - at the moment there is nothing concrete we have with the player or Manchester United for instance".
Besiktas confirmed their interest in the player earlier this week, but Ali Naibi, the club's sporting director, tried to play down the speculation of Fellaini moving to Turkey.
Fellaini's legal team have said that they are also suing for "loss of employment, inconvenience and impact on performance" due to the damage the boots are claimed to have inflicted.
Reports broke last month that Belgian powerhouse Fellaini had chose to take New Balance to court, after a number of problems with his boots.
"New Balance is confident that it has acted appropriately and is grateful for the services historically provided by Mr. Fellaini".
