LinkedIn Integration With Word Makes Writing A Resume Easy

There are a number of areas where we have not seen collaboration, but that could be ripe areas for it - for example Cortana integration into LinkedIn's new "smart replies" feature that suggests replies and wording to people sending messages to each other; or Skype integration into the same messaging service to allow for voice and video calling. Along the right-hand side of the resume, you'll see things like similar descriptions of the jobs you've listed in your resume, a list of skills that are applicable to the jobs you've listed, job openings that fit your experience, and access to resume coaches and professionals who can guide you to your next position.

Microsoft is adding a LinkedIn-powered resume building feature to Word for Office 365 subscribers, the companies said Wednesday.

Although Microsoft and LinkedIn are not talking about this explicitly as an exercise in artificial intelligence, there will be some assistant-like features incorporated into Resume Assistant. There's also an option in Resume Assistant to turn on Open Candidates to quietly signal to recruiters that a user is open to a new job.

Microsoft on Wednesday unveiled the next step in its ongoing effort to integrate its various productivity applications with LinkedIn, which it acquired past year for over $26 billion.

Leverage relevant examples-See how top people in a field represent their work experience and filter by industry and role for a personalized experience. It also suggests open positions that may interest the user, based on key words in their resume. It will begin rolling out on Thursday to those enrolled in the Office 365 Insider program, with broader availability expected in 2018.

"Our plan is to bring Resume Assistant across our platform, so Windows, Mac, [Office] Online and beyond", Goode said.

The new Resume Assistant uses LinkedIn insights on the back end to connect to Microsoft Word on the front end. The company has confirmed that Resume Assistant is going to be rolled out more broadly across the globe over the next few months.
