Federal courts have intervened three times on behalf of the NFLPA and Elliott, and the National Football League has been barred all season from enforcing its six-game suspension of Elliott under the personal conduct policy.

It is possible, if not likely, that the three-judge panel in NY will rule as early as Thursday, after oral arguments, on whether Elliott can play Sunday at Atlanta. "It's them trying to make me something I'm not". That's not who I am. "Every day is worth fighting".

If he is granted a preliminary injunction by the appeals court, then he will likely be able to play with the Cowboys for the rest of the season while the case goes through the court system.

On Friday, the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals granted a request for an administrative stay to the NFL Players Association on Elliott's behalf. If the suspension is back in place, Elliott wouldn't be eligible to play until Week 16 against the Seahawks, opening the door for Alfred Morris to step in as the starting running back in the interim. The Columbus City Attorney's Office declined to prosecute Elliott for those same allegations and Elliott's defense contests that the National Football League ignored exculpatory evidence.

A panel of federal judges will convene this week to hear Elliott's request for an injunction that would overturn Judge Katherine Polk Failla's ruling from Monday.

But even setting aside the Elliott case, the Cowboys were the team that gave Greg Hardy another chance in 2015 after the Panthers severed ties with him in 2014 over a domestic violence case. "He knows the system".
