High temperatures Monday will be cool, in the mid-50s.

This will be the result of what should be a short-lived cold front that will move through the Abilene area Monday afternoon. West winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph, diminishing to 5 to 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph after midnight. Monday night is expected to be partly cloudy with lows in the upper 30s to low 40s.

The rest of the week will be quiet with a mix of sun and clouds and highs returning to the mid-70s for Thursday and Friday! Winds from the northeast at 15-25 miles per hour and gusting to 40 miles per hour are possible. Halloween night will see partly cloudy conditions with decreasing rain chances and lows will be in the low/ mid-40s.

Monday will be sunny with highs in the mid-60s with west winds 5 to 10 miles per hour.

Temperatures will warm back to seasonal Wednesday, then shoot above the average for this time of year Thursday and Friday. Tuesday night will be mostly clear with lows around 50. Wind gusts could reach 55 miles per hour.

I thought it was interesting to note that the low that will move towards the Northeast tonight, will move inland nearly in the exact same spot as Sandy did 5 years ago.

Have a great day! High near 68. Southeast wind 11 to 13 miles per hour. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 61.

Sunday Night.Partly cloudy. Lows in the mid to upper 50s.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 79.
