Three children died and six other people were seriously injured when a pickup truck hit a horse-drawn buggy in the USA state of MI on Sunday.
The vehicle and buggy crash happened at 8:34 a.m. on October 29 on E. Condensary Road near Wood Road in Evergreen Township.
"The pickup truck struck the buggy which caused extensive damage to both the pickup truck and the buggy", state police said in a press release.
Nine individuals were riding inside the carriage at the season of the crash, police said.
Two young girls, aged 7,9 and a 12 year old boy were killed and 6 others were hospitalized with serious to critical injuries after the collision.
The driver of the pickup was not injured, and troopers say he was cooperative following the crash.
Six other people in the buggy were taken to the hospital by ambulance.
It is not now known if there were any seatbelts in the buggy.
Michigan State Police have started investigation into the accident.
