The heiress, Alyona Zaitseva, jumped a red light while she was driving her Lexus in the city of Kharkiv.

The police have confirmed the earlier witnesses' reports that the SUV hit the pavement following a collision with another vehicle. A woman seven months pregnant was also seriously injured.

One of Ukraine's rich kids, a 20-year-old spoiled brat killed six after she ran a red light, plunging into another vehicle, and ricochet directly in a group of pedestrians, writes Mirror and the Ukrainian press.

Ms Zaitseva, whose father Vasily Zaitsev is the multi-millionaire boss of an energy company, was unharmed.

The heiress's armed bodyguards reportedly drove up in two jeeps immediately afterwards and protected her from an angry mob who saw the carnage in the city of Kharkiv, Ukraine, on Wednesday.

One onlooker who was trying to help the injured described the scene as being like "a war zone".

If convicted, the heiress faces up to ten years in jail.

She totally destroyed the other vehicle, ending up killing all six pedestrians who had the misfortune of passing on the roadside exactly when Alyona caused the crash.

Elena Berchenko, 25, Yury Neudachin, 24, and Oksana Nesterenko, 36, were named as those who were killed, the Mail reported.

The ministry statement says the driver has been detained and is being investigated for traffic safety violations.

That suggests that the crash was not terror-related.
