Mesut Ozil Has 'Started Telling Arsenal Teammates' About Impending Manchester United Switch

The Mesut Özil to Manchester United transfer rumors have reared their ugly heads yet again, this time with a vengeance.

This is according to a sensational claim from the Daily Mirror, which would suggest that Ozil is fairly openly preparing to say his goodbyes to Arsenal and move north to Old Trafford for a reunion with former Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho.

As with Alexis Sanchez, who is also in the final year of his deal, it would benefit Arsenal for Ozil to head overseas when he leaves the club as opposed to remaining in the Premier League.

Pietro Pellegri: Manchester United and Chelsea have joined the race to sign the 16-year-old Genoa star, tabloids reports.

So it would appear that Ozil's chances of signing a new deal with the Gunners are now slim to none, especially with his advisers wanting a new £350,000-a-week, while the club ONLY offered £275,000-a-week last season. Özil is in the previous year of his Arsenal contract, with little apparent desire to renew, and should therefore be available on a free transfer in the summer.

Horse-racing legend and Gunners fan Tony McCoy has joined the criticism, claiming the Germany global does not deserve to wear the shirt.

Wenger could not get the best out of Ozil despite paying £42.5 million for the playmaker.

The 2014 World Cup victor has been candid with his desire after he lost his place in the starting line-up, but Manchester United has yet to show any indication that they will push through a deal for the lad.

It's not exactly set in stone for him to make the switch, which would be on a free in the summer window, as United would still need to press forward with a potential deal.
