As promised, Trent Reznor has unleashed his cover of John Carpenter's classic Halloween theme - a redo you can now stream in full. Like any holiday, Halloween has its own soundtrack.

The Halloween theme is one of the most recognizable horror themes and for someone to attempt to cover it, they have huge shoes to fill. Carpenter also recently confirmed he would handling the music for the upcoming Halloween reboot/sequel, due out in 2018. Carpenter has mostly stepped away from filmmaking in the last decade or so too, and in recent years has focused on composing and touring his own original music.

The album is scheduled for release on 20 October and includes new versions of Carpenter staples such as "Assault On Precinct 13", "Escape From New York", "The Fog" and the HP Lovecraft-related "In The Mouth Of Madness". The music to me acts as nearly another character in the film.

"There are many options". All of my favorite movies are playing on television, I can get my favorite candy in bulk and the dead return to torment the living.

Few pairings could be so unnervingly flawless as Trent Reznor covering John Capenter's theme for 1978 horror film Halloween, but here we are, on this blessed Friday the 13, receiving just that. Halloween III was his attempt to turn the series into an anthology that told original stories set at Halloween, but when that film received major backlash for lacking Michael Myers he declined further involvement, up until this new movie.

In the new Halloween movie, Judy Greer will play Karen Strode, the daughter of Jamie Lee Curtis' character. Green and McBride will also executive produce under their Rough House Pictures banner.
