Aguero is City's top-scorer with six goals in as many Premier League appearances for Pep Guardiola's side, who lead the standings on 19 points after seven fixtures.

Manchester City have fuelled rumours that Sergio Aguero will return sooner rather than later, after they shared a video on Twitter showing the forward walking out to train.

The 29-year-old suffered a broken rib after being involved in a vehicle crash during a day off in Amsterdam last month, with the initial reports suggesting that he could be out of action for up to six weeks.

Messi proved his enduring class once again on Tuesday evening, scoring a hat-trick in Argentina's 3-1 win over Ecuador to nearly single-handedly send his side through to the World Cup finals.

"Then one thinks 'why did I [go]?', but it's hard to imagine that something like that could happen".

"I would love to have Leo on my team, but that seems quite complicated".

Speaking to TyC Sports (h/t Sky Sports" Rory O'Callaghan), Aguero said he didn't realise he got very lucky until he arrived at the hospital: "When I got to the hospital I asked the doctor if I could play for City on the Saturday [against Stoke]. I had nearly two days off and going to the airport was when I had that accident.

"Then one thinks "why did I [go]", but it's hard to imagine that something like that could happen".

Aguero added: 'I'll rejoin the group and see how I feel, whether I'm comfortable or not'. Back to training. I am ready!
