A MI mother has lost primary custody of her child after she was jailed for five days for not following through on an agreement to vaccinate her 9-year-old son.

Rebecca Bredow, the MI anti-vax mother who was jailed because she refused to let her son receive vaccinations, was not happy to learn that her son received four immunizations this week. "It's been a rough few days to say the least".

The judge went on to list a series of things Bredow did without the dad's consent, saying "it's clear to me that you don't care about orders".

Summary: A MI mother was sentenced to jail for defying a judge's order to immunize her son and during the week she spend locked up her son received his immunizations. While his ex-wife was in jail, he followed the court order and had his son receive the first round of vaccines.

Bredow is in the middle of a custody battle over her son with James Horne, the boy's father.

McDonald issued Bredow with the jail sentence for contempt of court.

Less than one week on, the Detroit mother says it's been the "worst five days" of her life, compounded by the news her son had been immunised.

Parents in MI are legally allowed to skip or delay their children's vaccinations due to personal beliefs, according to the BBC.

The child was given four immunizations Monday, after Bredow's ex-husband was granted shared custody, according to the AP. She said she will do that. "Your attorney signed that order", she added at the time of sentencing.

After Bredow said that she and her ex-husband agreed until recently on not vaccinating their child, the judge said that Bredow acknowledged in her own pleadings that he was up-to-date on his vaccinations when he was a year old.
