The announcement for the revamped Dust2 map came from the official CS:GO Twitter account, saying that the map would be "updated, refined" when re-released.

As the name suggests Dust 2 is a successor to the original Dust map and is one of the most popular and played Counter-Strike maps, offering a Bomb Defusal scenario for players to enjoy.

All of these memories are about to become subtly altered though, as Valve has announced that a new and improved version of the map is going to be included in the next CS:GO Beta release.

Check out all the latest CS:GO updates. When it arrives, expect it to return to heavy rotation as soon as pro players have gotten their heads around the changes Valve have brought into play.

Dust2 is one of the most iconic competitive maps in the first person shooter genre, and on the 10th of October, Valve released a new reworked and graphically updated version to the excitement of CS:GO players.

You can test the map out in the game's beta branch-here's some instructions on how to opt in.

The developer's tweet included a preview of the map with many vibrant colors and map textures, including a significant blue color change to the skybox.

The visual upgrades are also extending to the game's character models, with the Terrorist team getting some higher-resolution models to match the environment.
