The decision could have something to do with an article Hunt wrote for Playersvoice.com, in which he laid out his health problems, and discussed other hot topics such as doping and fighter pay. Hunt also told Players Voice that he has trouble at night sleeping and is slurring his words. In a report by Australia's Daily Telegraph, an unnamed UFC official explained the native New Zealander's removal. "I've still got my senses about me and I know what's right and wrong, which is the main thing", wrote Hunt.

"The Super Samoan" obviously feeling insulted by the fact that yet another one of his opponents was popped for steroids filed a lawsuit against the UFC and has been embroiled in legal battle with them ever since.

"Sometimes I don't sleep well", he said.

"I'm disappointed that I have been withdrawn from the fight, I have passed all medicals 2 days ago". My memory is not that good anymore. Lesnar failed multiple drugs tests that were taking around the time of the fight, but took a few weeks until afterwards for the results to come back.

"I think Mark Hunt deserves to be more a part of his children's life and hopefully his grandchildren, and not be "punchy" which is a road he's headed down if he continues to take this kind of punishment".

Fromer heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum will take his place on the card, the Brazilian fresh off a dominant submission win over Walt Harris at UFC 216 in Las Vegas this past weekend.

"Athlete health and safety is of the utmost importance to the organisation and it would never knowingly schedule an athlete complaining of health issues for a fight".

The Sydney-based slugger revealed in the article that he was starting to "stutter and slur my words" and would forget something he would do the day before.

'The interview has been taken out of context and want to reassure all my fans, I slur my words only when I have a drink I'm fit and healthy, and would have understood if the UFC requested a medical to ensure my safety, however this is total bullshit f*ck you Dana, you've always hated me you dog'. "The organization will require that Hunt undergo further testing and evaluations prior to competing in any future UFC bout".
