Timothy Silyers, 27, and Brianna Hook, 22, both of Vero Beach, made a bet Sunday involving their favorite National Football League teams - Silyers' Dallas Cowboys and Hook's Green Bay Packers.

The man, who told deputies he was intoxicated, went outside to incinerate his jersey after the Cowboys lost to the Green Bay Packers, but he attempted to keep the lit jersey on and was soon burned.

The man was taken to the hospital by family.

A bet on a football game between a Florida man and his wife took a unsafe turn when he chose to wear the jersey of the losing team before setting it ablaze - leaving him with second- and third-degree burns, authorities said.

"He was set on fire after losing a bet on the Cowboys game ..."

"Skin was hanging off his arm and back", a witness told the paper.

A Cowboys fan suffered second- and third-degree burns after his drunken decision to satisfy a bet with his wife went terribly wrong. The incident reportedly came as a result of a lost bet after Aaron Rodgers led Green Bay down the field in a last-minute drive that gave the Packers a 35-31 win.

Silyers had third-degree burns to his right arm and hand and second-degree burns to his back.

So many lessons to be learned from this. I'm sure your friend or significant other would be just fine with you tossing them a wad of cash instead, if that's what it takes. She said she then rushed Silyers to the hospital. It's fire for cryin' out loud.
