Unlike the series' first three books - Fifty Shades of Grey, Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed - that are narrated from the perspective of the main female character, Anastasia Steele, Darker will explore the story in the second book from the main male character Christian Grey's point of view. Writing this novel had been a journey of discovery, and I hope readers will find what I've learned as compelling as I did. 'In Darker, Ana and Christian confront some seemingly insuperable challenges, and I-like millions of other "Fifty" fans-can't wait to discover more, ' said Walker.

The Fifty Shades franchise, which began as "mommy porn" Twilight fan-fiction, went on to make James the fastest-selling author in history.

Fifty Shades Darker as Told by Christian will be hitting bookstores and e-readers November 28.

The trilogy concluded with "Fifty Shades Freed" that was released in 2012.

It stars Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan.

"The inside of Christian Grey's head is a fascinating place to be", James told Publishers Weekly.

"Fifty Shades Darker" was released two years later.

In an analysis of the first book (and subsequent film), researchers said the relationship was based on intimate partner violence, meaning emotional abuse and coercion were present in every single interaction between Ana and Christian.

Fifty Shades Freed opens in theaters on February 9, 2018.

Do you love or loathe the Fifty Shades series? The excerpt detailed Christian's thoughts as he sat in the auto and waited for Ana to get off work.
