Porsche launches on-demand subscription program for $2000 a month

This seems like a very interesting move for Porsche, but could open the company up to many first time city-dwelling buyers with only the space for a single vehicle, but still the desire to occasionally unleash their sports auto soul. The vehicle subscription service will provide access to eight models of Porsche including Cayman S, Cayenne and the 718 Boxter. The good news is, Porsche's new Passport subscription program allows anyone in Atlanta to subscribe for $2,000 per month.

This service is apparently part of Porsche's "Strategy 2025" program, which aims to cater to those people who want to experience their sports cars. "With Porsche Passport, we now offer our customers a simple and flexible driving solution at their fingertips".

The service provides two tiers of vehicle subscription. Porsche says the month-to-month subscription program includes vehicle tax and registration, insurance, and maintenance, as well as detailing.

To sign up, the automaker says that the Porsche Passport app for iOS and Android devices is now available in their respective digital stores. Users can schedule same day or future vehicle exchanges through the Porsche Passport app.

Porsche Passport is a partnership between Clutch Technologies and Porsche's North American office, both of which are headquartered in the Atlanta area.

"The service is called "#Porsche Passport", and is expected to start in November.

Several other automakers are implementing similar programs, like Audi's Audi on Demand pilot project in San Francisco, or Cadillac's BOOK service it started testing earlier this year in NY.

Porsche wants to expand the program across the USA - no word on Canada - but will gauge customer reaction in Atlanta before it makes a move. That 53-acre complex features a driver development track with eight educational modules totaling 4.1 miles, a business center, and Restaurant 917.

At the core of this success is Porsche's proud racing heritage that boasts some 30,000-plus motorsport wins to date.
