"Everything happened so fast", Demi says in one scene, noting how she shot to stardom as a Disney Channel star in 2008 when she co-starred in Camp Rock with then-teen sensations The Jonas Brothers. "I went on a bender for like, two months".

Lovato's new documentary, Simply Complicated, premieres October 17 on YouTube. Demi's friends, family, and coworkers appear in the doc alongside her, and even her longtime pal Nick Jonas makes a cameo in the trailer discussing the infamous incident where Demi punched her backup dancer in 2010.

From the opening seconds, it's clear to see that Demi is going to be brutally honest during the documentary, similarly to the material on her latest album, Tell Me You Love Me.

Several people feature in the clip including Demi's personal development coach Mike Bayer who says "Demi was on a road to like, suicide". "And that's the best I can do".

Nowadays, Lovato is 5 and a half years sober, and working every day to stay that way.

'I'm looking at my future and my past, and I want to share that with my fans, ' she said. "I realize over the time we have shared together that I feel I care more about our friendship right now".

Simply Complicated will be released on YouTube on October 17. When I'm confident, I feel sexy.
