Cooper and Cohen have been friends for years, with Cooper appearing on WWHL after Griffin was sacked from CNN's New Year's Eve special.

The twosome will ring in 2018 from Times Square in NY on CNN's "New Year's Eve Live with Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen" on Sunday, December 31. Griffin apologized and said she "went too far".

"I've been friends with Anderson for 25 years".

Cohen and Cooper have traveled the country with a stage show, "AC2", in which they tell stories and take questions.

CNN announced Griffin would be fired from her hosting gig nearly immediately after the fake, bloody head photo went public.

He and good pal Cooper will be live from Times Square in New York City.

Griffin initially made an emotional apology regretting her actions, calling the photo "horrible". However, in August, she told NY magazine that their friendship had ended in the wake of the scandal. He most recently hosted New Year's Eve Game Night With Andy Cohen for NBC this past year, which averaged a 1.0 rating in the adults 18-49 demo.

Griffin called Cooper out at a recent AIDS benefit performance, where she shared the contents of a letter a gay fan sent to both personalities. During this time, Griffin also headlined her own Bravo reality series, My Life on the D List, which ran for six seasons before it ended in 2010.
