"I would like to urge local people across Edinburgh and the Lothians to join me by wearing it pink on Friday, October 20 and show their support for Breast Cancer Now". The Michigan State Police post on Iron Mountain's north side has a special vehicle out front with its shield logo in pink.

"Wear it pink is an important opportunity to stand together and support Breast Cancer Now's life-saving research".

"Breast cancer awareness is an issue very near and dear to my heart", Michigan First Lady Sue Snyder said.

In 2015, less than 20 out of every 100,000 white women with breast cancer died, while almost 30 black women were killed by the disease. Early detection improves odds of survival.
