Snapchat will now let you book an Uber and read TripAdvisor reviews

The new Context Cards work similar to how Snapchat's marketing tools work for existing paid campaigns now, which can do things like offer up links to stories for publishers when users swipe up in their stories.

Context Cards are available in the UK, US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand for Snapchatters on iOS and Android from today.

A Snap spokesperson declined to comment on deal terms with Context Card partners, but said that the feature was built off the company's $114.5 million acquisition of mobile search app Vurb a year ago.

You can now learn more about what you see on Snapchat without asking your friedns (Picture: Snapchat)What information will be available on Context Cards?

Context Cards will bring additional information to Snapchat with a single swipe and it's already working with several partners, also including Foursquare, Michelin and Goop. But a new update makes them look a whole lot like.

Depending on the Snap you want more information on you can also see extended reviews from customers, directions to the venue, opening hours, contact numbers, modes of transport to get there, reservations options, link to the venue's website and more public Snaps from that location. Snap plans to add more partners over time. Snapchat, which boasts a young-skewing audience, averaged 173 million daily users worldwide in the second quarter. That will let users access related posts submitted to Our Story (if they're tagged at or near the location) as well as imagery from partners. The first Context Card that appears will contain basic information, such as the name of the place, category of venue (e.g., department store or restaurant), and partner ratings.
